What Do Letters Mean On A Receipt?

Canon PIXMA iP4000

on the ftp server from Canon Japan now is a Linux Duckertreiber for the Canon iP4000 PIMXA is available (the printer there PIXUS ip4100). Unfortunately, just as an rpm package. You can convert to a deb package but package, but unfortunately I was able to install the converted package unable to print with all programs, since apparently the command lpr with the driver under Ubuntu 5.10 does not work easily. I can print with the Epiphany Web browser and the text editor gedit .

also reports the configuration program bjcups from Canon when you try to save a modified configuration:
lpr: error - unable to access "PIXUS-iP4100-Ver.2.50" - File or directory . Below I've listed

the commands used to install (If someone wants to conduct their own tests):

 aptitude install alien alien *. rpm mkdir pixma alien bjfilter-common-2.50-2.i386.rpm aptitude install dpkg-i libxml1 bjfilter-common_2.50-3_i386.deb dpkg-i bjfilter -pixusip4100_2.50-3_i386.deb dpkg-i-bjfilter pixusip4100-lprng_2.50-3_i386.deb aptitude install libpng2 ln-s / usr/lib/libtiff.so.4 / usr/lib/libtiff.so.3 killall cupsd aptitude install libgtk1.2 bjcups cupsd-P-iP4100-Ver.2.50 PIXUS
